Drivers reinstalling all the time

I finally got the Huawei e1820 usb modem installed on my laptop (with Win Vista) and it's up and running. I had to choose a different dashboard than the Mobiililaajakaista software that came with the modem, since that didn't work at all. So I'm using the Mobile Partner dashboard. But the problem is that every time I either reboot the computer or insert the usb stick again it starts reinstalling the drivers and tries to open the autorun for the software installer. Is there any way to stop it from doing so? The drivers and software are all installed. I don't need them reinstalled every time I turn on the computer.

I assume, you still have Mobiililaajakaista-software in the stick? If so, there is two easy ways to solve the issue:
- disable the autorun-option in Vista's settings or
- by giving at-command AT^U2DIAG=0 to the stick. This sets stick to so-called modem only -mode (i.e. flash-memory, network card and memory card reader are off). Stick resume to "normal state" with command AT^U2DIAG=297. You can give at-commands with HyperTerminal (port is PC UI -serial port and connection settings are: 9600 bits/sec, 8 data, 1 stop, no parity, flow control none).
