Hello, i'm Saunalahti subscriber with Huawei e367 stick. I want to set up home network on router Zyxel Keenetic 4g (it's the same as ZyXEL NBG4115). What settings I need to put in my router to set up connection.

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

You need to use a Saunalahti APN: internet.saunalahti
Call number: *99#

The username and password should be blank.

Also for best results, remove PIN code from SIM card. You can do this with your (smart)phone, just setup a SIM from USB modem and remove PIN from phone settings. Then setup SIM back to your USB modem.

Hope this works for you in no time.

hpguru, thanks a lot!

May you help me - what I should put into

Authorisation method: "PAP" or "CHAP" or "PAP+CHAP"

MTU: 1490 or 1400

There are two main authentication protocols that are used by Saunalahti Internet Service Provider members. The protocols are CHAP and PAP.

PAP is an acronym for Password Authentication Protocol. It is a method for verifying the identity of a user attempting to log on to a Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) server.

CHAP is an acronym for Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol. It is an authentication method used by PPP servers.

These two protocols are not completely compatible. The PAP protocol, the most universal of the two protocols, allows for authentication with all providers. The CHAP Protocol however, is not so universal and can present a problem.

You should use a PAP+CHAP, because then router choose the better protocol that fit properly Elisa's network requirements. However, there shouldn't be any problem if you just use a router default setting, this PAP mode.

You can read more about MTU here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_transmission_unit. You can use any port you like.

Hope this clears things out. And hopefully, Elisa network meets your expectations.
hpguru, thank you!

You explained me everything 🙂 I'll try to set up connection tomorrow when I'll arrive at Finland.
