Internet not working after modem reset

Hi, I had to reset my modem router to change some wifi settings, but now I cannot get my Saunalahti internet connection back. It's an ADSL connection, modem is Zyxel 660HW-d1. Are there some special settings I need to put in to reconnect? Thanks!

The operational status of your modem is indicated by lights. Can you tell us what lights are on/blinking?

The correct settings for ADSL connection:
  • VPI 0
  • VCI 100
  • RFC 2684 Bridged
  • LLC/SNAP
  • ADSL2+

Thanks for the info! I've put in those settings, except that I only have the option for RFC 1483 Bridged, not RFC 2684 (though this modem worked fine for Saunalahti before I reset it!). But still internet has not come back. The modem router shows green light for DSL but a red light for Internet. Any other ideas? Thanks!

That's usually caused by incorrect vpi/vci values so I'd start by double checking those. There are some rare instances where you need to use 0/33 instead of the aforementioned 0/100.
Thanks for the quick response. I tried 0/33 instead. Internet connection has not come back but something did change; the internet light on the modem routers is no longer red, it's now not showing either red or green.... Does that indicate anything?

Probably means that 0/100 are the correct values. Are you able to take a screenshot of the settings and post it here?
Have set back to 0/100. Here are photos of settings. Thanks!

Your settings are correct. There's a very slim chance that the issue is caused by your router having the wrong date and time but other than that I can't really think of anything else than a faulty device.
If you're using that modem in "bridging" mode instead of "routing", make sure that you DHCP-client enabled in computer. You may now have a static IP set. Or maybe you have to disable modem's DHCP server (NAT) if you want to use it in "bridging" mode.

Zyxel modems are a bit unusual. If you want to use NAT, then you have to set mode in the internet connection setup to enet-encap, not bridged.

If you really want to bridge the modem, only then set mode to Bridged 1483/2684.

Have you tried the installation wizard? Zyxel modem configuration is really complicated. There are so many different settings spread all around the config related to bridging, routing and NAT, that it may be a good idea use the installation wizard to set things up.

By the way, RFC 2684 is just a new revision of RFC 1483. Thus you can always choose bridged 1483 if your modem does not have bridged 2684.

VPI 0 VCI 33 applies for Sonera ADSL. Those are never used in conjunction with Elisa nor Saunalahti connections. If your service works with 0/33, then you are using Sonera for whatever reason. For example, your neighbour's Sonera ADSL was misconnected to your phone line.
