Issue with huawei mokkula

Hello, hope so some people speaks English here. So i bought huawei mokkula with model nr : HB824666RBC. But i have one problem with it.

It keeps saying Insert sim card and restart. So i thought it may be due faulty sim card which of course worked well on my android phone. So i decided to buy totally new sim card, to test it out. Apparently it says exactly same, insert sim card and restart. Any suggestion what i should do ?

Hi @riffolen and welcome to OmaYhteisö! 🙂 I suppose that you have model E5577 as the model nr you provided seems to check out for the battery it uses? 🙂 Was the device used or brand new? From what you’ve already tested it sounds that the SIM dock on the device isn’t working as intended :/

You may have SIM card lock in this modem. If especially Telia sim card works! You can also make sure the right APN is used and PIN code is off. Usually Telia may be locking their modems.

In this case only Telia sim card will go, and maybe you need to buy one ;)

Also make sure that the SIM card is inserted properly.

If after reboot the SIM is recoginzed but is locked, you will need to verify the PIN code of the SIM card, so in other words just remove PIN code from it like I also suggested before.

In Tampere new shiny Ratina shopping mall they have new Telia store. It is a good one because you are always welcomed even if you are DNA or Elisa user. Offers are not so so.

But you should really go to one of their stores to be served and pleased with solution.

In Ratina you can also find Elisa or DNA services just as good or even better. In DNA store I think you can get free coffee all the time, I wish they’d have warm tea as well for us :)

If you have their shop close by, you can always visit them and ask if they could test it. If it’s malfunctioning, there might be possibility to have DOA switch to a working device on site :)

thanks for response, it was bought as brand new from Telia. I guess i should return it then :/
