Moi,

As per the title. Was expecting (and was told by Elisa) better speeds on 4G. HUAWEI B525 router gives slower ethernet downloads than older Sierra Wireless AC762s - as slow as 6 mbps and an average of about 12 mbps on wi-fi.

Any advice?

Kiitos/Cheers

Users have moved from 3G networks to 4G networks. So it is possible, that 4G in your location is filled up with too many users. So the 3G in fact, servers better as there is no users =)
Try to force the new Huawei router to 3G network only and check if you get the old speeds back.
And remember that 5 Mbit/s is the lowest average DL speed you are paying for, according to your contract. Higher speeds are possible somewhere in Elisa's network. You just not happen to be in that location 😉
Kiitos. Yup, I think that's what it is. Plus I bought the hype on how great this router is, expecting better results than with the old one (seems reasonable really). As well as the slow speeds I've found no way to view my ethernet devices attached to the B525 either. The GI is poorly designed.

Speeds are fluctuating now between 2.64 mbps and just over 30 mbps. Elisa'a 4G is G R E A T here if you just want to use it at 1am 😛 I'm in contact with them but not holding out for a resolution any time soon TBH. The shop I bought the router from suggest I buy an uber-expensive antenna from them: What a surprise.

Just checked the speed test again and it was over 32 mbps now 😮 That must be down to my 'lucky 4G socks' eh :D

Moi moi 🙂

And that's the average during a 2h period. 1h@10Mb/s combined with 1h@nothing is still within the specs. 😃
