Dear Sir/Madam,
I just opened today the 4G connection, that was offered to replace the land line internet connection. The sales men on the telephone was very happy that I would get a fast internet connection and that the source of the connection was about 400 M away from my house. Couldn’t go wrong!
To day I did the speedtest, and the speed is between 3 and 25 MB/s. I tried different spot in the house, but the internet doesn’t get faster then it was over the landline.
Any idea what Elisa is going todo about this? Or shall I pay Elisa by the percentage of their promissed speed!?!?
When you have fixed line your speed is guaranteed because it is dedicated only for you. 4G mobile internet is shared media in which many users shares the same resources. Elisa guarantees only 5 Mbps as minimum speed in 4G mobile internet. In your case, speed can be anything between 5-100 Mbps.
Furthermore, many factors affects the speed such as used device and its capabilities, distance and signal conditions to the cell phone tower, buildings and obstacles between you and the cell phone tower, available bandwidth and load (= how much users in the same area are using service) in the tower.
I advice to use cellmapper app in your android phone to check signal strength (RSRP value) and you can post screenshot here so we could estimate more about your situation.
Nevertheless, 4G will never be the same as your fixed line. I advice you to consider to get back your fixed line as it’s the most reliable and stable what comes to the speed and quality.
