Can't find VoIP (SIP) settings on TP-Link VX800v G.Fast router

Recently I purchased TP-Link VX800v G.Fast router from Elisa. The internet connection is working fine. Now I want to enter my VoIP (SIP) account settings but the “Telephony” tab on the router’s web interface is missing.

I found on the internet that it should look like this

but no such tab can be found on my router.

This is what my router’s web interface looks like, “Telephony” tab is missing.

 

The router itself has 2 phone ports and DECT support. And VoIP features are advertised on the shop’s page.

I am confused. Can it be that Elisa intentionally disabled this feature on their firmware?

I am confused. Can it be that Elisa intentionally disabled this feature on their firmware?

i’m a afraid this is the case, routers and modems what elisa usually sell have different firmware than generic one. some cases features are removed or changed, and updates go differently. most cases you cannot put generic firmware into elisa’s one.

because advertised features are different, you can open formal complaint, and demand compensation.

Can you direct me where should I write the complaint? Can’t find the official email address or something like this.

The sad irony is that this router was available from amazon 50 eur cheaper and appears to be fully unlocked but I decided to buy directly from elisa to avoid unnecessary complications... Such strange and unnecessary decision from their part to remove this feature.

Thanks for the answer! Since it is confirmed that product info was wrong I should probably try to ask for partial refund. ​@ilponen can you advise me about the best way to handle this situation. Should I just book a call from the Elisa phone support?

although, company may require finnish or swedish.

i’m not overtly optimistic that elisa compensates anything, this is not a first time in particular. but if customers let these happen over and over again, change won’t happen. you need to start from the customer service.
