I tried to open ports on my arris router, even tried to connect a second router (TP link)  but neither on that it refuses to open ? Turned of firewall and put both of my routers in DMZ!! That didn’t help either?  Is Elisa blocking my connection? This is getting ridiculous! Pls help

I haven't fully understood why ports need to be opened; are there issues with, for example, the game? If you need to open ports for a game on a Playstation 5, the best solution is definitely to add the PS5's IP address to the DMZ field on the modems management page. As far as I know, it’s not easy to verify whether the ports are open for the Playstation, but sometimes NAT 2 will drop to NAT 1, meaning fully open. NAT 2, however, doesn’t prevent connecting to game servers or limit communication with friends. NAT 2 is the default. If you encounter problems setting up ports or need help, I highly recommend reaching out to our Omaguru service.

This is also quite helpful website in this case https://www.cfos.de/en/cfos-personal-net/port-forwarding/arris-tg2472.htm - Different model, but same logic.

Could you explain a bit more about what you're trying to do and why, so we can better understand the issue? Are you trying to open a specific port or forward it to a device on the internal network? What ports you are trying to open? Also, welcome to OmaYhteisö @Jeski!

I want to open specific ports like

  • TCP: 3478-3480
  • UDP: 3074, 3478-3479

and some more! Then forward them to my ps5

but is it even possible to portforward with Elisa isp?

Elisa does not block basic port opening. It sounds like the issue is with the device itself. Do you get any error messages when you try to configure ports? DMZ works by assigning the PS5's IP address to it, allowing traffic to the PS5 to be fully opened. I do not recommend using this feature for other devices unless you know exactly what you're doing.

I don’t get any error message when I’m configured ! Everything looks perfect except when I go to port checker and see if the ports are open I get the message that ports are closed! Can it be that I’m behind CG-NAT ? Or maybe I need a static IP adress from Elisa to be able to port forward? I tried the DMZ to my ps5 but I don’t notice any difference? And how do I know if that works? I can’t check it?

I have big troubles with FC25 online gaming! Sluggish and unresponsive gameplay! I have 600M speed and under 20 ping with no zero packet loss! I use a gaming monitor BenQ mobiuz ex2710u 2.1 hdmi and VVR support to my ps5 and still my gameplay is unplayable! Only this game is giving me headache! So I tried VPN connection but that didn’t help, I tried to port forwarding but Elisa blocking me to open ports of my own choice? I change DNS and MTU settings on ps5, didn’t notice any difference!  I feel Elisa and EA servers isn’t working together somehow? So maybe get a static ip with cable modem/router would help? I don’t want to share ip address with thousands of people close to me!

There’s no blocking from Elisa and static ip isn’t available unfortunately. 🤔 I highly recommend reaching out to our Omaguru service. 🤗

Reaching out to omaGuru is way to expensive! This shit wouldn’t happen if Elisa just could sell static ip addresses to the customers. And that link about port forwarding you sent, you can see that you need a static ip address to be able to open ports!

I have port forwarding issue also with Arris TG2492S.

Enabling port forwarding nor DMZ doesn’t work. Internal IP responds, but public IP does not. whatsmyip.org and dyndns show my public IP.

Is there something I can do? From Elisa, all is well, as Bridge mode routes fine. Is there something I or Elisa can do with this device? I tested a lot.

– factory resets (helped in bootloop situations)
– even on a reset device, DMZ nor port forwarding does not work
– rebooting does not help
– a bootloop issue was solved by leaving ntp servers disabled (default). Bootloop prevents admin access, but it can be stopped with unplugging the antenna cable.

My firmware seems to be the second newest 9.1.103FF. I could run Bridged mode, but I loose the practicality of LAN ports in local net (minimizing always on power consumption ;), had to run extra cables, etc.
